Hello there! Sorry for the lag in blog posts.... I wish I had a good excuse, but really, the lack of schedule in my life has led to idle hands. But no worries, I have big hopes for this week as far as productivity goes. I thought in the meantime I would share some photos of our outing to an apple orchard and farm yesterday.

Oh Cambridge My Cambridge...

So I just got back from a run, which was really more of a mixture of walking and faster walking, and I realized how much I really do love this town. I so wish I could take each of you by the hand and show you the places that we walk and the things that we see. But, a blog post will just have to do for now..... until each of you come visit that is!

First off, let's just say that its 60 degrees here..... yes that is correct, people are walking around in sweaters, scarves, and leggings, the way fall really should be in September. Once again I know the trade off of a long gray winter is coming, but for now I am loving this cool weather.

I love how people congregate in the streets, walking to the many pastry and coffee shops for a mid morning visit. I love how you can run into a post man and give him your letters and how there is a cop on every corner to greet you as you walk to the square. I love the historic cobblestone, the people who ride their bikes with their dog in the front basket, I love the little mamas and their babies across the street who always want to play with our dogs. I love that it is a two minute walk to the closest fro yo, coffee shop, pub, or restaurant. I love that there is life on these streets. And once you get past some of the quirky characters you might run into, with their offensive signs or clothing, you can really get to love this place.

Foodgawker Please

We are nearing the end of the week and I still have many-a-CSA veggie to cook before we get our next batch tomorrow. We have sweet bell peppers, sweet chile peppers, tomatoes and onions galore. Now what to do with all of these colorful lovelies? The hubs doesn't consider a meal a meal unless it is centered around some sort of meat..... so that leaves me with a dilemma. I have a selection of meats in the freezer but am not so sure what to do with them. Foodgawker had some interesting suggestions when I searched "Chicken peppers."

Thankful

I don't even know where to begin with this post but I wanted to portray how thankful I am. God has been gracious over this last month in New England, providing us with new friends, church, and community. I knew that our lives in Boston would look very different from the one we have led so far, not bad or weird, but different. I was nervous about living in a liberal culture of academia, where churches are young and believers are few. But God has shown us Himself in so many ways.



Before moving here we had looked at churches online that we would be interested in making our homes during our time in Boston. We had basically narrowed it down to two in the whole city that we would be interested in visiting and one of those is around the corner from our apartment. We have also been placed in a church community group in our neighborhood with a couple who is starting their second year at HBS. It's awesome to see how the Lord perfectly orchestrated where we would live to bring glory to His church.

On top of giving us a church family, God has surrounded us with other Believers in the Harvard community. Last night we attended Harvard Business School Christian Fellowship and I was astounded by the turn out. It was also fun to see classmates who we didn't realize were fellow believers (not exactly the first question you ask in these parts :). I think I heard one of Hudson's classmates turn to someone and say, "Dude! I didn't know you were a Christian!"

There have been countless other situations with Bible studies forming, women's get togethers, and couple friends to get to know. So all that to say, I can't wait to see what God's plans are for the people of Cambridge and Boston, and I am excited that we get to be a part of His story here.

And these are some of my favorite things.....

I am pretty stoked for a couple things happening these days:

A. As may have been noticed by recent posts, I have a weak spot for Dunkin' Doughnuts Munchkins (translation: Krispy Kreme doughnut holes) and indulged in this weakness at the train station today (my parents would be so ashamed) I ordered six aaaannnnddd the dunkin doughnut lady gave my an extra six for free.... and then I ate all of them

B. New agenda/planner! This is my first year out of school but the days of early fall still make me giddy with the thought of fresh school supplies. So I splurged on a glitzy gold MyAgenda by MomAgenda to plan out our days. In past years I was known to plan out my day in fifteen minute increments to be most efficient with my time outside of class...thankfully I have mellowed out a bit. But, if I don't list it or plan it out... It probably ain't happenin'. So I am super pumped about the daily compartments included in MyAgenda where you can categorize things like dinner, exercise, etc.

Ode to these Cobblestone Streets

You are beautiful and historic and I feel a bit more quaint walking around with you here. But oh how you make it difficult to walk in a heal, run without tripping, or roll my luggage to the taxi stand.....
